Just as little babies grow from the level of infants to eventually becoming adults, the same process is also applicable in God’s kingdom. So, this book has been put together to help you focus on developing yourself spiritually or growing up spiritually. I know there are a lot of materials you may have come across that talks about this same subject matter. That is to tell you that when books or articles are being written about the same subject, that simply tells you how important the subject is.

Whenever Jesus says “Verily Verily” in the Scriptures, He is simply telling you to pay attention to what He is about to say or have said. The same thing is applicable to this book. Perhaps there are some things that God would want to open your eyes to about spiritual growth that you haven’t learnt from other materials.

Spiritual growth is a continuum – you continue to grow in the Lord until finally He calls you home to be with Him. Apostle Paul said in Ephesians 3:18 that you “may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the width and length and depth and height” in God. You see, there are depth and height in God; there are length and breadth as well. You will simply determine which level you want to go with the Father as you grow up spiritually.

Don’t ever get to a point where you think you have known everything about God and then you climax. A lot of believers make such mistakes today. Just about the time you think you have known much of God, and then He will simply turn another side of His to you. That was why Apostle Paul was admonishing and prayed for the Ephesians folks, that they would understand the different sides of God.

Our continue cry should be knowing Him more and more till the end of time. This book therefore would serve as a companion, and a guide towards growing up spiritually. The Battle of Destination is a book that transcends human understanding and comprehension to reveal to us the eternal truth and mystery that has been hidden from past generations. Every day, we are on the battlefront waging war not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, rulers, imaginations and thoughts: that have exalted themselves above the knowledge of Christ. The invisible battle that we fight on a per second, minute, hourly and daily  basis have left a lot with bruises, severe wounds, put a lot of people in the state of coma (comatose) and many have lost their lives to these battles.

from generation to generation in this battle. The battle front tactics differs from race to race, people to people, nation to nation, language to language, but the result of it all is the same DEATH.

God’s truth is the only infallible tool that can present and to deliver life, as a victory sentence to anyone on this battlefront. It is not a product of how good, powerful or wise you are, that can guarantee you victory.

Every day, we ALL journey to a destination, consciously or unconsciously. The tools that make for progressing either of the ways, we choose to go is ALL within. God will be opening our eyes to see and to understand-where we need to go, what we need as we journey towards this destination and how to get there.

God is the Pioneer of discipleship; therefore the task of writing a foreword for a book like this requires a humble approach. The reason is because Christian Discipleship is not man’s idea; it is exclusively God’s pattern for bringing men into the fullness and reality of His purpose, plan and possessions. That’s why discipleship is a journey and not just an encounter. It is a journey full of Mount Zion encounters. But it has a goal beyond an encounter. Discipleship is the making process of kings in God’s kingdom. Jesus is not the King of slaves. He is the King of kings. Hence, discipleship is a journey of raising men like Jesus on earth. 

 So this book in your hand, Journey of Discipleship, is a scripturally sound and practical destiny transforming resource that reveals the unadulterated, untainted and unmodified mind of God about His agenda towards raising people as His image and representatives on earth.

Christian Discipleship is not a new thing to the Church of Christ. Over the years, countless books have been written about it, programmes have been organized around it, curriculums have been designed and many people are carrying about the certificates that show they are graduates of discipleship. But the truth is, if these achievements are what discipleship is all about, there will be no need for this book to be written.

This is not just another book about discipleship. It also reveals that true and genuine discipleship as given by the Lord is progressive. Discipleship is a journey and not a course. Thinking that organizational efficiency (in terms of resource management) and effectiveness (in terms of meeting objectives) is only possible when an organization understands and responds to its environmental demands promptly and properly.

The church today has become more endangered by the environmental forces of this world-PEST; to the extent that the church is no longer bothered about effectiveness; but efficiency. It is said that people usually do what people see; hence, the church is becoming gradually assimilated into the shapes, styles, systems and struggles of her environment.

Thus, since understanding is necessary for any accurate response to one's environmental demands and challenges; the LORD is keen on helping His church to know what she must know and must do; while she is on the earth. In addition, this book is not written to discourage or frustrate anyone; but to relay the voice of the Spirit to the church on matters pertaining to her identity, her purpose and her potentials.
